OK, it's the weekend and you have a little time so break out the tools and build yourself some panniers. (the lawn can wait, there's always tomorrow) If you're planning to ride through Central America or maybe up to Alaska on the Pan American highway, these are just the ticket. Maybe you can do your own ride around the world TV show, why should that be reserved for the semi … [Read more...]
China’s design process
As I mentioned here and here , the Chinese have an odd way of designing products, it kinda seems like they take photos and tracing paper and call it design. The photo here shows the Chevy Daewoo Matiz and the Chinese Chery QQ soon to be sold in the US by Malcolm Bricklin. GM is ready to sue but this constant legal nonsense is going to get old. Last night I saw the tail end of American Rodder which looked really good, Boyd Coddington picked his 10 favorite rods, and they were really nice, and right after that was Monster Garage. That show has been way out there for some time with weird projects and last night they built, of all things, a motorcycle! A group of long time builders got together and … [Read more...]
Mladin, what more needs to be said?
At Fontana, over the weekend, Mat Mladin had a bad day and a good day. Saturday he had a DNF due to a clutch failure while leading the race, Sunday, everything worked and he just did his usual superb ride. Can anyone beat this guy? Ben Spies has also been showing huge ability, winning on Saturday and scoring second on Sunday, so if Mladin falls off the pace, Spies is there to … [Read more...]
