Motocreations Concept Bike

By Paul Crowe

This shows some interesting design ideas. I mentioned Mark way back here but I haven't been watching the goings on around his shop for a while. Dylan, over at Twisting Asphalt, had a post about this that I just noticed. Seems some photo journalist was snooping around Mark's shop and took advantage of the opportunity to look in places he wasn't supposed to be. He snapped some … [Read more...]

Bike Weather – for good?

By Paul Crowe

Around the Great Lakes, we really appreciate the return of good weather. After what has seemed like a very long, cold and wet Spring, the weather has finally turned. I've said before, those of you in the warmer areas may not feel quite the same about it but when the bad weather lasts so long, the good weather is just that much sweeter. Not only is the riding great but when you … [Read more...]

Motorcycle drawings

By Paul Crowe

Here's an artist working in pencil that does some really superb work. Christopher Marshall has a series of samples on his site and I think they look absolutely first rate. Personally, I like the AJS, the Vincent and the Brough Superior but they all look good. I'm always impressed with work like this, something about technical objects done with an artistic flair that just looks … [Read more...]

Paddle Shift for motorcycles

By Paul Crowe

Looks like an air shifter to enable up and down shifting and a neutral button. It also provides for a manual override. Sounds very neat, we'll be waiting to see a full road test to find out how it actually works. … [Read more...]

Dolmette 24 cylinder motorcycle

By Paul Crowe

Sometimes you do it because you can. Here's a company, Dolmar, that makes chainsaws and they decide to build a motorcycle powered by 24 chainsaw engines, the Dolmette. It's a blending of reality and a German comic strip character. The result actually runs, though starting is a bit of a chore with 24 pull starters. The power is delivered through a belt drive system that feeds it … [Read more...]

Vespa ad photos

By Paul Crowe

So there I was, browsing through the June, Cycle World magazine and I come across this rather interesting ad for Vespa scooters. Now, that's a scooter accessory a lot of us would order if we had the chance so I check out the Vespa website for the USA and she's nowhere to be found. Guess it's not in our catalog, so I wandered over to the Italian website and the first thing you … [Read more...]
