John Britten Documentary Film

By Paul Crowe

There's a documentary film available about John Britten produced by Ruffels Documentaries of New Zealand. It's titled "One Man's Dream." I have not seen this but John Britten is one of the more fascinating fellows in the motorcycle world, having produced a superbike, pretty much on his own. It had a unique design and surprised a lot of onlookers and other racers when they saw … [Read more...]

Twindian – Twin Engine Indian Motorcycle

By Paul Crowe

One of the comments on yesterday's post about the V4 custom mentioned the Twindian, a twin engine 1916 Indian. One look at this and I agree, it's far better looking and shows the kind of cool work they were doing a long time ago. According to the story on the site, the Twindian was built sometime in the 1920s by Bill Arnold who joined two 61 cubic inch 1916 PowerPlus engines … [Read more...]

Twin Engine Twin Turbo Custom Motorcycle

By Paul Crowe

This twin V-Twin, twin turbo custom motorcycle debuted at Biketoberfest last fall and took Best in Class at the Rat's Hole Custom Bike Show. It was built by A1 Cycles of Wellington, Florida and is called "All In." The bike runs a 360 rear tire and a 310 front, not exactly a sportbike, but it's interesting nevertheless. The twin engines put out a reported 550 horsepower with one … [Read more...]

Although numerous high end auto companies have programs like this, it's rare to see … [Read more...]

Aprilia Magnet Tilting 3 Wheeler

By Paul Crowe

With all of the recent interest in the Piaggio MP3 and other tilting three wheelers, I thought I would revisit the Aprilia Magnet, a design project from a couple of years ago that never went beyond the concept stage but, to me, looks better than many of the more recent attempts to create a vehicle of this type. The design is the creation of Heikki Naulapää, a Finnish designer … [Read more...]

Honda Forza Smart 2-seater Concept Scooter

By Paul Crowe

Honda is introducing a few new concept vehicles at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2007 this weekend, among them is this Forza Smart scooter which looks rather nice. If scooters keep improving and looking like this, they could win over a lot more riders. Honda press release follows: TOKYO, Japan, January 10, 2007– Honda Motor Co., Ltd. announced it will display four concept … [Read more...]
