There’s a documentary film available about John Britten produced by Ruffels Documentaries of New Zealand. It’s titled “One Man’s Dream.” I have not seen this but John Britten is one of the more fascinating fellows in the motorcycle world, having produced a superbike, pretty much on his own. It had a unique design and surprised a lot of onlookers and other racers when they saw how it performed. He left us far too soon. It’s only available in VHS, which is odd these days, a DVD would probably be better for sales but I’ll bet it’s very interesting anyway.
From the description:
Motorcycle enthusiasts the world over have always talked of designing the ultimate “Super” bike. New Zealander John Britten did more than talk about it. He went ahead and built it, at home and by hand! This is his amazing true story. From backyard workshop to the screaming action of Daytona and the Isle of Man, this fascinating video captures all the drama – the dreams and the nightmares, the triumphs and the tragedies.
Thanks for the tip, Doug!
