No Formula 1 for Valentino Rossi

By Paul Crowe

Valentino RossiAfter all of the speculation about Valentino Rossi jumping to Formula 1 due to his multiple tests with the Ferrari team, Rossi himself says no.

No Formula One, at least for the moment. I’m staying with bikes. … I will carry on racing in MotoGP for a while yet. … I believe my work in motorcycling is not yet finished: I still have so much to do and will carry on in MotoGP for a while.

It would be interesting to know if his start this year has had any effect on the decision, maybe he wants to concentrate on the job at hand and get back to winning.

Fernando Alonso, current F1 champ, remarked:

Good. Like this we don’t talk anything more about him

Class act, that guy. Maybe the challenge Rossi offered and he never accepted tweaked his nose just a bit.

Now we’ll get to see what Rossi can do on the new 800s next year.

In everything that I have read about Rossi and F-1…he has always maintained that he wasn’t leaving MotoGP yet. Not that he can’t change his mind at the last minute, but he has been consistant in his stance.

I would like to see him stay with MotoGP for a while longer. He is incredibly talented and there are some riders that are stepping up to the plate that can make him work for a win.

It makes for better racing when there is competition 🙂

    This is good news.

Rossi has still shown some dominance in many of the races, even the ones where he fell. Combine that with the increased talent across many riders and it is anyone’s race. How many riders can show up now and have as good a chance to win as anyone? 6, 7?

Plus, the lead pack changes the top positions sometimes each lap during the race. What other racing has seen that type of action?

I’d love to see him on a Ducati. Now that they will be racing 800cc, maybe even a Drysdale? Crazy, but could you imagine in this day and age ending his career on a privateer-like bike on the podium?
