Unexpected biodiesel hazards

By Paul Crowe

As we move bravely forward into the era of alternative fuels, there are dangers that await. Picture yourself riding through a national park on your new diesel motorcycle and because you're very "green" in your thinking, you use biodiesel to power your bike. Since biodiesel is often made from discarded cooking oil, the aroma trail your bike leaves is slightly reminiscent of … [Read more...]

Alternative energy motorcycles

By Paul Crowe

In the last week or so there has been an enormous amount of press devoted to alternative energy power sources for motor vehicles. Just yesterday, President Bush was at a biodiesel plant and talking up the advantages of using that fuel. Hydrogen has been promoted by numerous government initiatives and we're hearing about some talks between GM and Toyota on the subject of hybrid … [Read more...]

Dead battery winners

By Paul Crowe

I've mentioned Make magazine several times before, if you don't read it, you're missing out, really. Off road bikes would be … [Read more...]

If you follow sports of any sort or if you just watch the news, you've noticed all of the steroid hearings and talk of cheating by athletes who use performance enhancing drugs. There are many differing views on this topic but as soon as the government gets involved in defining what's fair, watch out. An interesting article in Slate magazine asks, "If steroids are cheating, why … [Read more...]

X Plane flight simulator software

By Paul Crowe

OK, why is The Kneeslider doing a post about flight simulator software? Besides the fact that X-Plane is the most unbelieveable software available for absolutely realistic flight simulations, I believe Kneeslider readers might enjoy the technical beauty of this. After all, you can get heads up displays for your motorcycle helmet and those are straight out of jet fighter … [Read more...]
