Amerityre polyurethane spare tire

By Paul Crowe

Amerityre polyurethane spare tireWrote a while back about the Tweel which is a no-air tire technology from Michelin coming out for cars and now there’s another company bringing out the Amerityre which is a polyurethane spare tire. It takes the place of the little donut tires we often see. I’ll be interested to see if they can round off the profile a bit so it can be used on motorcycles. Off road bikes would be the natural application, no worries about rocks and all of the other junk you can encounter while out in the boonies. I think there’s a lot of potential here for cars but motorcycles are considerably different, we depend so much on how the tire grips and performs while leaned over. Interesting though.
