We've talked about putting snowmobile engines in motorcycles and converting snowmobiles for the road before, mounting wheels where the skis and track used to be so you can ride the roads during the warmer weather. Well, here's one that should keep the Can-Am crowd in the rear view mirror because this sled has a 1000cc engine, same as used in the Yamaha R1. The seller doesn't … [Read more...]

This classic 1969 BMW R69S was one of two purchased by Mike Wolfe from the TV show American Pickers. The current owner bought it from him. It has the original Wixom bags, but even better is the Hoske tank. The Hoske tank has about 8 gallons of capacity, I believe, and really adds to the look. The 15 inch tire looked pretty impressive in 1985, but now, not so much. This bike also has a lot of the UFO parts popular in the … [Read more...]
This is a Marusho Magnum Electra and if you're like me you'll say, "It's a what?" Well, the name sounded Japanese, so I pulled down my copy of Japan's Motorcycle Wars and sure enough, there was a reference to the Marusho Automobile Manufacturing Company and a note indicating they made about 1000 motorcycles. There was little else for detail, so Google to the rescue and I found … [Read more...]
