Wheels4Tots – motorcycle training wheels

By Paul Crowe

Wheels4TotsWhen I was really young and learning to ride a bicycle, my dad ran along behind me and kept the bike balanced with his hand and would release it after a bit, while I continued forward, hopefully upright. I learned balance pretty fast and it carried over to minibikes later and eventually motorcycles.

These days kids start riding little motorcycles very young and along with all of the balance issues they have to figure out throttle, brakes, and everything else that goes along with a motorized vehicle. You can’t run along behind them so you might as well go back to the old tried and true training wheels like bicycles have had for years.

Wheels4Tots are just that, training wheels for motorcycles. They’ve been around for several years but I just came across them the other day and they look pretty cool. Honda came out with a pretty complex and high end computer motorcycle trainer that we mentioned a while back but these wheels get kids away from the computer and outside on a real motorcycle. If I was teaching a really young child to ride, I would definitely check these out.
