Ducati Superbike 999R Xerox

By Paul Crowe

Ducati 999R Xerox replica
We previously mentioned this Xerox replica 999R, here are the full details just released:

The 999R Xerox is a special series motorcycle with a wide range of features that distinguish it from the standard 999R model, such as Öhlins forks with black sleeves, anodised black footpegs and top yoke, Öhlins ‘Racing’ rear suspension with double damping adjuster in compression, aluminium body, counter-spring and spring pre-load setting. The motorcycle is also fitted with radial-mounted front brake calipers with the red Brembo Racing logo, is decorated with “Xerox Replica” graphics and comes with a racing kit and extra adhesives.

The 150 hp at 9,750 rpm produced from the famously smooth Borgo Panigale twin-cylinder engine is the most power ever to appear in the legendary Ducati trellis frame. The large bore (104 mm) enables high revs as well as the use of larger-diameter valves to let the engine breathe freely. The main differences with respect to the other 999 models is found in the top end of the powerhouse where more extreme cam-timing guarantees top-notch performance, while the oversized titanium valves with reduced diameter stems work on bronze seats to ensure greater reliability.

But that is not all. The 999R also has titanium valve collets, 12-hole racing injectors, magnesium head covers, carbon covers for the timing belts with a built-in ventilation system and carbon heat shield for the silencer. Everything has been designed as if this were an actual racing bike to offer exceptionally low weight and high performance without compromising reliability.

The feathery overall weight of the 999R has been achieved by the use of several parts in magnesium, including the front headlight support and rear view mirror supports. The sculpted carbon fibre fairing has been shaped as a result of strict aerodynamic tests, carried out by applying the experience gained from hundreds of races all over the world. The tall plexiglas nose fairing, identical to that used in competition, provides protection even at top speed. The seat features a high grip covering that enhances rider feel of the bike for improved control.

Every single 999R is “signed” with a numbered silver plate on the top yoke, as well as a badge of authenticity supplied with the bike, both adding an extra touch of exclusivity to one of the most prestigious motorcycles currently available in the world.

RACE KIT
The Testastretta in the 999R can be made even more powerful using the race kit (for track use only) that comes with every bike. It includes a 102 dB Termignoni exhaust, with a horizontal exhaust rear section without a catalytic converter, and a special electronic control unit. All this results in improved performance and a weight loss of 3 kg.

The jaw-dropping engine performance is supported by a first-class chassis set up, specifically developed to deliver top results on the track: adjustable headstock rake, box-sectioned aluminium alloy rear swingarm (a perfect copy of the 999R Factory race bike), radial-mounted front brake calipers, forged and machined wheel rims and fully adjustable Öhlins suspension.
The 999R is the jewel in the Ducati S
