Got a note from Pere Tarragó of Barcelona, Spain, he thought I might be interested in looking over his scale model motorcycles. I went to his website, took a quick look and slowed way down, this was something special.
Pere has been building scale model motorcycles for about 35 years, he’s been doing it professionally for 17 years. All of his models are scratch built using the full size motorcycle in his studio for reference. The models are 1:5 or 1:6 scale built totally by hand, in metal, with steel or aluminum skin and he constantly measures the original so as not to lose any detail.
Some of his earliest models were of his own classic bikes, Bultaco, Ossa and Montesa, and eventually he expanded his modeling to many other marques.
Pere builds models for individual collectors and also sends work to Fine Art Models, who we’ve covered here before, they use them as the basis for building a limited series. That explains my double take when I looked at one of his models, a Montesa, I recognized it as the same one now offered by Fine Art Models.
These really are extraordinary works of craftsmanship. Superb work, Pere!

Fantastic workmanship! I love it when you can’t distinguish the model from the real thing.
This is my favorite site for super realistic scale models: http://kimshouse7015.com/
