Yamaha Ultra Precision Papercraft Models Will Challenge Your Builder Skills

By Paul Crowe

Yamaha MT-10 (FZ-10) is the most recent papercraft model

The first time we saw Yamaha papercraft models on The Kneeslider was way back in 2005. They were impressive then, but not new, these print, cut and assemble models had already been out since 1997. You can go to the website, download some pdf files and build yourself a motorcycle. As you might expect, in the intervening years, the models have become a bit more complex, ... no, … [Read more...]

Igniting the Hands On Spark Building Model Kits

Revell dragster model

Were you ever a modeler? Do you remember yourself opening those boxes from Monogram or Revell containing all of the plastic makings of an airplane, a ship, a car or a truck? As you pulled off the lid that often had an action image of what you were going to build, you could see the assembly instructions folded neatly inside, a sheet or two of decals and all of the parts, large … [Read more...]

BMW R32 Scale Model by Pere Tarragó

By Paul Crowe

Every new model by Pere Tarragó is an absolute work of art, the meticulous attention to detail, the appearance of not being a model at all, but a real motorcycle, somehow magically shrunken to model proportions. His latest work, shown here, is a BMW R32. He sent a series of photos documenting the entire construction process which is truly amazing. Pere says this 1/5 … [Read more...]

Benelli 250 GP Scale Model Motorcycle

By Paul Crowe

Pere Tarragó has just completed another of his exquisite scale models, this one is a Benelli 250 4 cylinder GP bike. The photo above is one of those where you look at it and think, "Hmm ..., nice bike," then you see the piece of candy in the foreground. The model is 15 3/4 inches long and weighs 5 1/2 pounds. Brakes, suspension, levers, all work, 618 hours to produce … [Read more...]

Motoscala Tarrago – Scale Model Motorcycles

By Paul Crowe

Got a note from Pere Tarragó of Barcelona, Spain, he thought I might be interested in looking over his scale model motorcycles. I went to his website, took a quick look and slowed way down, this was something special. Pere has been building scale model motorcycles for about 35 years, he's been doing it professionally for 17 years. All of his models are scratch built using … [Read more...]

Montesa Motorcycle Scale Model

By Paul Crowe

Scale models have come a long way but I've often found motorcycle models to be just a little off in some proportion, somewhere. Maybe the tires are just a little bit too large for the wheel to look right or some tubing or wiring looks wrong, but up close you can always tell they're models and not the real thing. And then, there are models like this one, just to prove it can be … [Read more...]
