Mert Lawwill builds a flat tracker

By Paul Crowe

Street TrackerMentioned back here that a group was in the process of building a Triumph flat tracker for competition. Now Mert Lawwill, former Grand National champion, is building one, too, but this one is for the street and it’s based on a Harley Davidson. It’s featured in the April issue of Cycle World and it looks great. Called the Street Tracker, it looks just like a flat tracker from the 60’s, it just happens to have a lot of current engineering and refinements. Some nice custom work is included, a four arm rear suspension, new heads with the exhaust ports on the left, Buell forks, etc.

This is one more example of small shops putting together some really nice bikes that may not have a huge market but should easily support a niche builder. Keep up the great work, guys.
