G-Oil Non Petroleum Green Motor Oil

By Paul Crowe

G-Oil from Green Earth TechnologiesG-Oil was introduced at the SEMA show last week. G-Oil is a green oil that is completely petroleum free, it’s made from “American grown base oils” which seems to be rendered beef tallow in this case. The American Petroleum Institute should be issuing certification within a month and it’s available for all automotive applications from ordinary engines to high performance, turbocharged and diesel engines. There is no motorcycle oil available yet but I would guess, with the right additives, that might be coming in the future.

One really interesting thing about G-Oil is the disposal technique, you add another of their products, Disposoil, and it breaks the G-Oil down into a biodegradeable material that can be consumed by the organisms naturally found in the soil. That is very cool technology.

They have a whole series of green products besides the oil including a lot of cleaners, the kind most of us have around the garage. This is the kind of product I hope takes off and becomes very successful. Check it out.

Sounds cool and all, but there absolutely no way that’s going in my Ducati. I’d sooner use extra virgin olive oil…

It’s a mental shift to think something made from beef tallow could lubricate an engine, better to stick with something made from dinosaurs. 🙂

Really, think about it. Petroleum isn’t something magic, it’s just all sorts of very old plant and animal life that turned into a chemical substance we call oil after many, many years. With today’s technology, we just speed up the process. We don’t bury the cows for use in a million years, we make oil right away. Isn’t technology neat?

This is the sort of thing that we need to be working on. We should have been doing this after the oil embargo back in the 70s.

…breaks the G-Oil down into a biodegradeable material

Hmm – what about all the other junk that the oil picks up while in the engine (metals etc.)

Great news! But like other inventions, it will be squelched by competing companies interests. You don’t hear much about Canada’s great success in taking garbage and refining it into oil with high pressure/temperature/no oxygen – either.
Lot of foot-dragging of solar cells too. Electric and coal companies see them as a threat.

I think its great stuff. The reports are better viscosity which is amazing i hope it really catches on and we put a monster dent in foreign oil. People were skeptical of the wright bros also!!! So lets keep an open mind and try it before we deny it!!!
