Review: Arlen Ness is a legendary name in the chopper business but with all of the chopper shows on TV these days, it's easy to just lump him in with all the rest, a little older and far more successful maybe, but a chopper guy nonetheless. I just read Arlen Ness: The King of Choppers. When I first picked it up I was expecting one of those coffee table picture books and not … [Read more...]
Motorcycle derestrictors
A short while ago I mentioned the Nikko G pack derestrictor and I just found two more similar products. Muzzy's has the Bonneville Box that works for the ZX-12R and the Timing Retard Eliminator from Ivan's Performance Products. The Bonneville Box eliminates the 300km/hr top speed limit but is only made for the 2001 and 2002 ZX12R. The Timing Retard Eliminator is for … [Read more...]
Aluminum Norton Commando
Among the interesting motorcycles I noticed while at Vintage Motorcycle Days was this 1974 Norton Commando with all hand formed aluminum bodywork by Evan Wilcox. It seems Evan has been doing a lot of this over the years from the looks of things on his web site. Triumph Rocket 3 Turbo
You start with a Triumph Rocket 3, all 2294cc and 132 rear wheel horsepower of it, add one turbo from Turbo Connection and what do you get? Well, from the looks of it, one helluva fast and fun street machine. The iBoost turbo unit with 8 pounds of boost produces 203hp and 215 foot pounds of twist. Price of the kit is $5395. The same price will get you the same type of kit for a … [Read more...]
Motorcycle How-To videos

I thought that was neat and followed a comment recommending another video which led me to technicalvideorental.com. That site is very cool. Lots of how-to videos, including this series of motorcycle related items. But the range of … [Read more...]
Hayabusa powered DP1
Dennis Palatov started from scratch with a "what if?" and his answer is the DP1, a Hayabusa powered track car with carbon fiber body and far too many technical features to mention here. He is building this as a prototype for eventual production (projected February 2006) in several power variations, a stock Hayabusa engine, a turbo version and one to be powered by the Hayabusa … [Read more...]
