2007 Kawasaki Z1000 Introduced

By Paul Crowe

Kawasaki has introduced the Z1000 for 2007. This big bore naked bike seems like it should have fairly high end road ability with a torque curve focused on the lower end of the rev spectrum. Kawasaki press release: Kawasaki engineers have literally upped the ante in the naked bike arena with the introduction of the newly-redesigned 2007 Z1000. Offering both increased … [Read more...]

Victory Powered XYZ by Allmond Cycle Design

By Paul Crowe

Roger Allmond, who we last saw when he built his Ducati powered T Bob, just finished his newest bike, the XYZ (named after XYZ machines who sponsored the build). The XYZ is powered by a 92 inch Victory V-twin engine from Victory U.K. sitting in a handbuilt aluminum frame. Not many details yet but it looks like a real bruiser of a streetfighter. Another custom builder creating … [Read more...]

Radial Engine Motorcycle at Oshkosh

By Paul Crowe

When we last looked at the radial engine powered motorcycle by JRL Cycles, it was a bit short of finished. JRL mounted their engine longitudinally instead of transverse as Jesse James did. Mid Ohio and Tony Foale

By Paul Crowe

It's been an interesting week, we were very busy with offline events which kept us from our normal schedule. We're also getting ready to run down to Vintage Days at Mid Ohio tomorrow, normally I would make that a Saturday visit but I'll be following Vintage Days with Tony Foale's motorcycle design seminar Monday and Tuesday. I hope to post during my trip if connections work … [Read more...]

MotoCzysz at Laguna Seca

By Paul Crowe

Here is a photo of the new MotoCzysz as it was first shown Friday evening at Laguna Seca. Tech specs for this bike are under 350 pounds and over 220 horsepower which should make for some impressive performance figures. You can see complete specs on the MotoCzysz website. I don't have any more info yet though more photos will be coming soon. Link: MotoCzysz.com The … [Read more...]
