It was only a couple of months ago that we pointed you to Mo2or and their crowdsourced motorcycle design project. Many of you had reservations about how well it would work and I had a few of my own so it was interesting to hear from Steve Prichard, founder of the project, who wanted to give us an update. They had quite a few design submissions and the favorite was chosen by … [Read more...]
Building a Motorcycle the Hard Way – Tangeras Verksted & Stoperi T900 Project Update
When we last looked in on John TangerÃ¥s, he showed us the beginnings of his T900 project with lots of 3D printed parts for fitting and mold making plus some initial machining. He's been working steadily, but anything of this magnitude and complexity takes a lot of time. He's continuing his engine work with the intention of finishing that first instead of having half finished … [Read more...]
DIY 3D Manufacturing from Digital Photos
As technology accelerates, some of the most amazing things are taken in stride as quite normal. Arthur C. Clarke's famous quote, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic," is still true, but these days it's harder to advance far enough to induce those magical feelings. Design an object and print it out in 3D and no one blinks an eye, all you … [Read more...]
Bimota V-Rod HDB2 Roadster from Oberdan Bezzi

Highly doubtful either the Motor Company or Bimota would go for a design like this, it doesn't fit the accepted ideas of what their brands are all about, but that's … [Read more...]
Mo2or – User Generated Motorcycle Design
Steve Pritchard started a company called Mo2or (how do you pronounce that?), with the goal of creating a motorcycle based on rider input. You fill out a form on their website answering questions about what you consider your ideal bike, engine size, frame type, body, seat, etc. and after they gather input for a while, they'll begin the design phase and eventually produce a … [Read more...]
How About a V-Rod Glide?
In the comments on the post about the water cooled Harley Davidson heads, one of our readers, todd8080, pointed to a few Photoshop images he put together with the Revolution engine in a variety of other big Harleys. Though the Harley faithful might object they certainly look good to me. I wonder if any of the designers at the Motor Company ever do anything like this when no … [Read more...]
