US Highland in the Last Stages of Preparation for Launch of New US Motorcycle Company

By Paul Crowe

Highland Single

US Highland showed great promise a couple of years ago with plans to launch a build to order line of motorcycles made here in the USA. As most of you know, plans were dashed when a plane crash took the lives of Chase Bales, Damian Riddoch, and Mats Malmberg, the three principals in the business. Since that time, the company eventually closed their plant and was sold to new … [Read more...]

Is Road Racing Part of Harley Davidson’s Core?

By Paul Crowe

Harley Davidson used to go racing and win!

Harley, as we all know, returned to focusing on the core of the HD brand when they discontinued Buell and sold MV Agusta. The debate, especially about Buell, has been long and loud ever since. But while dumping Buell, everyone said it's now crusiers, all day, everyday, but it would be easy for the Motor Company to do a lot more racing while still focusing on the core brand. … [Read more...]

This may explain why you don't see these bikes on the road over here, … [Read more...]

It looks like SuperTrapp will be one of the survivors as the … [Read more...]

Honda CB750 - Motorcycle of the Century

Motorcyclist Magazine is celebrating their 100th anniversary and they thought it would be appropriate to choose a "Motorcycle of the Century," which turns out to be the 1969 Honda CB750. They call it the bike that changed everything, which is exactly what I said, several years ago. Good choice. There are lots of memorable motorcycles that created waves over the years, many … [Read more...]

Harley Davidson Snowmobiles – the Product Diversity of the AMF Years

By Paul Crowe

AMF Harley Davidson snowmobile

Our local railroad museum just had one of their weekend events, with a variety of interesting displays. About a half dozen hit and miss engines which are really cool and there was a display of vintage snowmobiles. A 1969 Mercury caught my eye, all in black with a single headlight, an orange Ski Whiz along with several others. It wasn't until I was leaving that I saw this … [Read more...]
