Suzuki GSX-R Motocross Conversion

By Paul Crowe

Remember that Ducati Monster transformed into a dual sport, called Terra Mostro? It looks like you can do the same thing with an old Suzuki GSX-R 1100 if you're sufficiently motivated. All you need is a healthy mix of KTM and Ohlins suspension pieces, some engine mods that take the original 1100cc engine out to 1200cc, fab up some body parts and there you go, flying down the … [Read more...]

Royal Enfield V-Twin – The Musket

By Paul Crowe

What you see here is a 700cc Royal Enfield V-Twin constructed using two 350cc top ends. The whole bike appears to have come from the factory, or maybe the "special vehicle operations" section, instead of the mind and work of a creative and determined owner. Aniket Vardhan, the builder, still wants to come up with a better exhaust arrangement, than short open pipes, but already, … [Read more...]

Motoczysz Enters TTXGP

By Paul Crowe

As indicated by the cryptic web entry on the Motoczysz website, Michael has decided to enter the TTXGP race on the Isle of Man. The design draws heavily on the Motoczysz C1 but as yet, the computer images are all that is available. Specs look good, if the bike is ready on race day, it should be a formidable entry. The rider will be Mark Miller. Frame: … [Read more...]

Press release: Brammo, the US manufacturer of the Enertia Electric motorcycle, based in Ashland, Oregon, was one of the first commercial teams from America to enter the TTXGP. A modified version of its Enertia motorcycle, … [Read more...]

Kingston University TTXGP Entry – Firstest

By Paul Crowe

Kingston University in the U.K. has a great looking entry for the TTXGP, the "Firstest," and is an example of how far we've come in the area of electric motorcycle design. It's still a computer graphic and some details are missing, though it looks good so far. Obviously, performance is what counts, so we'll see what happens on race day, but remember, this is a student … [Read more...]

Mission Motors Will Compete in TTXGP with Veteran Racer Tom Montano

By Paul Crowe

Mission Motors is set to compete in the first ever TTXGP and will enter the Mission One electric motorcycle with racer Tom Montano on board. Tom has raced in many venues and is currently one of the fastest Americans around the Isle of Man TT Course, nice preparation for what is sure to be an exciting and competitive race. Press release: SAN FRANCISCO – April 8, 2009 – … [Read more...]
