The Kneeslider’s 2006 Performance tip

By Paul Crowe

Lose weight. One of the most popular New Year's resolutions is also one of the best low cost methods of boosting the performance of your motorcycle. Cars weigh in anywhere from maybe 3000 to 5000 pounds or more and power to weight ratios need a big change from either power or weight to make much difference. Looking at the average car, you don't know where to start if you really … [Read more...]

The Kneeslider’s 2005 Review

By Paul Crowe

2005 was quite a year for motorcycles and The Kneeslider. A lot of new technology, new motorcycles and generally really cool stuff. The U.S. finally saw the return of MotoGP at Laguna Seca. For those of us who follow the series, it was great to see it back on our home turf and watching Nicky Hayden win made it even better. We're looking forward to seeing it return every … [Read more...]

Harley Davidson Police Motorcycle ends?

By Paul Crowe

No more Harley Davidson police motorcycles? I've mentioned police bikes here on several occasions, noting Honda's and BMW's entries in the class, but it wasn't until I noticed a news item from a police department in Oregon, that I heard the HD police bike is no more. The … [Read more...]

Motorcycles, Engines and Economics

By Paul Crowe

If you like technical things, if you really love learning how things work, how pushing here moves that over there, then you are a natural for economics. I confess, I love economics. I love to study complex relationships between things, seeing the pushing and pulling motions translated into rotation and movements where you might not expect. It's neat, whether it's in an engine, … [Read more...]

Rossi Replica Racing Suit

By Paul Crowe

Are you a good rider? I mean REALLY good, because if you're not you would probably look a bit silly wearing these leathers. Yamaha is offering a replica of Valentino Rossi's racing suit, same colors, same everything. If you want it in red or black or anything else, you're out of luck. The specs on the suit are what you would expect, it has all of the good stuff, nice … [Read more...]
