Barrett Jackson this weekend, some motorcycles included

By Paul Crowe

The Barrett Jackson auction from Scottsdale, Arizona is on TV this weekend and if you need an excuse to tune in, some motorcycles are included. They have a few old Vespas, some custom choppers and an old Triumph or two. I don't think it's necessarily the best place to sell an old bike but they show up on the list and when you get the auction feeding frenzy that often takes … [Read more...]

Camel Yamaha Factory Racing?

By Paul Crowe

Just the other day, we mentioned Yamaha had dropped Altadis/Seita and their Fortuna and Gauloises brands of cigarettes as a sponsor for their MotoGP racing team. Now in a bit of off season intrigue, rumor has it that Camel is stepping in as the replacement. What's cool about this is the appearance, at least for a short while, on the Yamaha MotoGP media web site of the line … [Read more...]

A Real Monster V Twin Motorcycle

By Paul Crowe

There's been a continuous move towards larger and larger V Twins. The chopper guys have been building large displacement engines and 2000cc bikes are available from the factory. As soon as you return the application, you'll be required to take a knowledge test. The permit will only be issued when you pass the written test. The Kneeslider strongly supports that. Motorcycles get a … [Read more...]

Delphi has developed an infrared side alert system, called Forewarn, to detect vehicles in your blind spot. It measures temperatures in the lane 10 feet to your side and 26 feet back and if it detects a vehicle it signals in your side mounted rearview mirror. The information on the company website describes the sensor system as designed for light duty vehicles but it has just … [Read more...]

Harley Davidson Shipping Service

By Paul Crowe

Harley Davidson has just announced it will ship your bike to where you want to ride. A little short on vacation time and want to ride the roads a couple thousand miles away? No problem, HD will pick up your bike and send it to where you're going. All you need to do is ride. I think it's a neat idea. There are already a number of companies that will ship your bike around the … [Read more...]
