Ducati Luggage and Travel Accessories

By Paul Crowe

Ducati is on a licensing roll. They are leveraging their brand name and attaching it to all sorts of things which can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how far they go with this. This line of luggage looks very nice and they have backpacks and messenger bags which work well for a rider, the red and black color scheme matches a lot of Ducatis out there. Some … [Read more...]

Norton Rotary John Player Special for sale

By Paul Crowe

Glancing through ebay I noticed this Norton John Player Special NRS588 replica for sale. Not many of these around. Norton got into the rotary power racer business for a while back in the late 80s and early 90s though I never followed it much, some of you Norton owners would know all about it. Interesting bike though, maybe a little before its time. Link: auction has … [Read more...]

Diesel Racers in 1952

By Paul Crowe

Here we are making a big fuss about diesel powered racers and Tom leaves a cryptic comment and mentions Fred Agabashian. Fred raced in the Indy 500 many times but in 1952 he started from the pole position in his Cummins Diesel powered racer. He finished 27th completing 71 laps. I didn't know that! Thanks, Tom. photo: Indy500.com … [Read more...]

So they gathered everything together, reproduced them and put them up for sale. I've wondered why more companies haven't dug out their old photos and put them up out there, you have to figure some of the … [Read more...]

Diesel Powered Bobber Chopper

By Paul Crowe

Well that didn't take long. Right on the heels of the Audi diesel winning Sebring, Bruce wrote in with a few details of his homemade diesel powered bobber chopper. The build started when his son began a science project on renewable fuels. When they got caught up in the idea of making their own fuel the next logical step was building a bike to try it out. They started … [Read more...]

Audi Diesel Wins Sebring

By Paul Crowe

If you were watching the race last night, you saw an Audi diesel win Sebring. The pitstops for the Audi were filled with photographers snapping pictures of the developing story. You could almost see and feel the enormous change in perception about to take place as millions of people realized the new word for performance was diesel. Diesel pickups have been a growing tide for … [Read more...]
