1937 Crocker Brings Big Dollars at Auction

By Paul Crowe

The weekend auction of Steve McQueen's memorabilia brought some high bidders out, a pair of his sunglasses went for $70,000, his 1956 GMC pickup went for $110,000 plus taxes and fees and the 1937 Crocker, at the motorcycle auction immediately following the McQueen auction, brought $245,000 and with all of the fees added on that's about $270,000. Ducati 1098 Introduced

By Paul Crowe

Ducati has come out with their new superbike, the Ducati 1098. One quick glance shows a lot of styling cues going back to the very successful 916 design that many missed these last few years. Power output is said to be 160 horsepower with a weight of 381 pounds, very nice if those figures hold up. Suggested retail price is $14,995. The 1098 S will be priced at $19,995 while the … [Read more...]

BMW Clever One of Time’s Best of 2006

The tilting 3 … [Read more...]

There is a lot of "stuff" on the block, photos, books, signs, movie posters, a little bit of everything. In among all of it are a few … [Read more...]

Fischer MRX Update

By Paul Crowe

Since we last mentioned the Fischer MRX just as it went into production, we've received several comments here and there is now an article about it in the December 2006 Motorcyclist magazine, the cover story, actually. In our first article, we noted it wasn't clear where the MRX was actually built and it is now clear that the production is at their factory in Maryland. Engines … [Read more...]
