Wide Rear Tire Trend Fading Fast

By Paul Crowe

It's amazing how fast things change but if you've been watching the custom motorcycles showing up at the bike shows, created for the build offs and featured in the magazines, you'll notice the rear tires are getting narrower, a LOT narrower. In the same way that someone finally noticed you couldn't actually ride a bike that's over ten feet long with some ridiculous rake, it's … [Read more...]

Duss V2

By Paul Crowe

Noticed this in Motorcyclist magazine and thought it looked pretty interesting. It's the Duss V2, built by Roland Duss. Roland designed the engine himself after rejecting Aprilia and Ducati as too wide. It displaces 993cc with a claimed output of 120 hp and 76 foot pounds. Dry weight is 319 pounds! Belt drive, 3.2 gallon tank and supposed to be produced for delivery this … [Read more...]

Electric motorcycle doubters are going to have a really tough time if KillaCycle keeps this up. Press release follows: A123Systems today announced that The KillaCycle, the world’s quickest electric … [Read more...]

Scorpa Trials Quad Prototype

By Paul Crowe

At the EICMA Show last fall, Scorpa had a quad concept on display that looked very neat but was nothing more than a concept. Well, funny how things work out because the engineers took the quad out on a test track in France and found it to be extremely capable and a lot of fun. The visitors at EICMA loved it and next thing you know, Scorpa starts thinking about building it. … [Read more...]

Cagiva Production Moving to India

By Paul Crowe

Cagiva seems to be restructuring their business a bit. According to this article, Cagiva has partnered with Kinetic Engineering of India to begin manufacturing the 125cc Mito in both 2 and 4 stroke versions, however, they are also considering production of a 650cc version in India as well. Cagiva President Claudio Castiglioni, planning to restructure his company … [Read more...]
