Kawasaki ZX-14 Runs Over 200 mph

By Paul Crowe

ZX14 runs 200mph

A ZX14 prepared by Brocks Performance Products ran 200.92 mph at the ECTA (East Coast Timing Association) speed trials in North Carolina a few weeks ago. There have been quite a few street bikes able to crack the 200 mph mark in recent years but this ZX14 did it without nitrous, without a turbo and without a supercharger. This was no big bore monster, either, in fact, it was very close to stock.

Brock Davidson lists the only modifications as the addition of his Brock’s Performance “Street Megaphone” exhaust system, a custom map for the aftermarket fuel injection box, a re-calibrated speedometer, ceramic wheel bearings and some drag racing suspension tie-down straps.

The bike was piloted by Chad Millholland for the record run.

Once the big Z gets sorted out by a few more teams, I expect to see it running all sorts of big numbers which should place it pretty firmly in the top spot, at least for a little while, until Suzuki rolls out their next version of the Hayabusa and we start this whole battle over again.

Thankyou for the link but there were two sentences that are a little vague.

‘A ZX14 prepared by Brocks Performance Products’. and
‘it was very close to stock’

Read into it as you will but personally both bikes are unbelievable pieces of modern engineering that are sure to put a huge smile on your face with too little between them to really matter.

Awsome! Believe it or not Ive had my, “Pretty much stock zx14” up to 185mph with only aset of slip-ons. Though I dont know how reliable the speedo is after 150, but thats what I was doin when I looked down. I did find out its a diffrent world after 150. Busa’s Beware
