Ah, those Italians! Piaggio, parent company of Vespa, are promoting the idea that Vespa scooters have always been a very sexy mode of transportation. We previously noted their rather interesting Vespa LX magazine ads showing a female gymnast balancing herself atop a scooter in a somewhat unconventional pose. With their current Vespa “Still Sexy at Sixty” campaign, Piaggio has gone one step further with their Kama Scooter website. The Kama Scooter is a take off on another well known book, which describes different, … you know, … positions.
Starting out with a montage of classic Vespa advertising images, it then proceeds to an interactive book which opens up to series of pages, and on each page is a brief Flash video in which the major players are a Vespa scooter and two attractive female models. Hmm …
Created by the U.K. firm New Media Maze, this is an example of a viral marketing video, one very likely to be linked to and seen by many with the intention of planting the sexy images of Vespa scooters in your mind. According to Julia Lo Presti, Marketing Manager from Piaggio:
Vespas have consistently been the sexy ride of the last 60 years and the viral New Media Maze have created truly reflects this. New Media Maze have managed to capture in this viral campaign the essence of what makes Vespa stylish and sexy – Vespa really are still sexy at sixty.
Viral? Sexy? Who knows, who cares? All I know is I checked out all of those pages so maybe they’re on to something.
(Probably work safe in most environments, if you’re not sure, don’t click)

cheese, blatant gratuitous sensuality; I couldn’t help but turn all the pages.
