Valentino Rossi at Phillip Island

By Paul Crowe

Once again, as the teams test at Phillip Island, Valentino Rossi is on the top of the heap. Before breaking his own track record he watched as other riders had done the same and then went out and topped them all. What I really enjoyed seeing, though, is that second fastest is American Nicky Hayden on the Repsol Honda. I would like to see Nicky win some races this year, he has the equipment and the talent and it would be nice to see him become a threat. I remember seeing him racing at Mid Ohio the first year he was there and everyone was going, “Who is that kid?” as he showed huge talent.

Speaking of Phillip Island, isn’t that one of the most beautiful race circuits anywhere? Next to the ocean, gorgeous views, spectacular. I wouldn’t mind a trip there someday. One more reason to go to Australia, I’m really beginning to like that place. I’ve highlighted a number of companies here and here and individuals down there, too, just seems cool.
