The Tweel, lasts forever

By Paul Crowe

TweelSince we’re on the subject of tire testing, here’s something to think about. Michelin introduced the Tweel at the Paris Auto Show. It’s an all in one wheel and tire with a replaceable tread. No air is needed, ever. It looks odd but, like any other technology, once you get used to it the appearance is perfectly normal. The Tweel still needs work before it can be used on cars but I can’t figure out how this would ever work on a motorcycle but give them time. Thanks to Autoblog.

Here’s another story on the Tweel. (NYT registration required)
