Suzuki B King production?

By Paul Crowe

Suzuki B KingIs Suzuki going to produce the B King? Originally making the show rounds back in 2001 and getting on all of the magazine covers, the Boost King was a 250hp turbocharged concept that looked liked it could kick some serious butt. Now, according to Australian Motorcycle News, it will be coming out late this year after being introduced at the Paris Motorcycle Show.

Of course, what you saw is not what you’ll get. They did away with the turbo and some of the advanced electronics to keep the price down but the non-turbo version is still supposed to be around 175hp so we haven’t lost much. (What will they call it? Can’t be the Boost King without boost.) Will this be shipped to the U.S.? Who knows. Will this really be coming out? Not sure of that either. These pre release news items sometimes get a bit sketchy, but if it is produced, Suzuki has one nice bike here. The engine is, I believe, the Hayabusa engine in some not yet disclosed displacement and state of tune. (The Hayabusa engine is becoming awfully popular for all sorts of bikes and everything else, Suzuki should sell those as crate engines for sport bike builders.)

If this bike is produced, expect to see a huge aftermarket of turbos and other parts. I like this type of bike. It’s kind of a modern V-Max. It would have huge performance, most likely great handling, nice looks, good ergonomics, it’s the kind of bike that could go on for a long time and would find other manufacturers scrambling to come out with their own version.

    like the modern v max?
I can’t believe yamaha has abandoned this post to the others (discontinuing the ‘max in europe and u.k. means only one or two more years over here…)
maybe this will cause great shame in the execs and finally force a new model…please?
all it neads is chain drive and a cosmetic remake, maybe with the 1300 kit and fake aircooled looks of the venture royale of a few years back.

wow. i just checked out gizmag’s article and…1500cc? i think the way to market this is more v-max than it looks now. that is-longer wheelbase, lower seat = easier to launch and harder to loop. the major thing holding back japanese companies and the more innovative products is the inline-4. no matter how novel the bike, when the uninitiated hear the exhaust note, they think budget UJM.
my solution? BIG BANG baby! give us a new sound! yamaha/kawasaki motogp bikes sound 10 times meaner with the big bang firing order, and the traction enhancement might help make this bike a drag race/land speed legend. oh well, when you already make the hayabusa I guess you’ve got this one in the bag already.

Bring it on. Just need to know when it would be in the showroom. It doesn’t have to have the turbo if there’s 175 HP available, even the color is fine (but would prefer one in all black).

This will be an awsome bike. I hope Suzuki has plans to export it to the US. Suzuki really needs a new standard bike, not that the Bandit is any slump, but it really needs a kick in the pants to compete with the new Yamaha FZ1 that is coming out.

Please bring this streetfighter to the USA. I was shopping for a Monster S4R. If this really comes to California, I will by Suzuki.
    Absolutely!

I seen the B-King up close and personal in Germany. Loved it! I am a Sport Bike man. I tried to blow the engine in a Busa the whole time I was in Germany, but couldn’t do it. Well before I left Germany, 2003 Some company in France accually produced some B-Kings for sale. Wish I was able to get one. If Suzuki desides to Produce them, I know I will be in the Front of the Line to get one.

This looks better than the new Yamaha V-Max
But it,s got to have the turbo and that 250HP.. none of this lawn mower HP
you get with today,s motor cycles
It,s easy…truck loads of HP but limit the top speed to 300kph
If i buy the new V-Max it will cost me lot,s of money to get the power
i want . They say 200hp…but that,s at the flywheel
    not at the rear wheel

It’s beautiful but if I have to give that kind of money, I would prefer a bike closer to the prototype. I got the GSR since I had to change my older bike and I’ve been waiting for the B-King. Now… I don’t know anymore…

I’m looking to find a forum dedicated to B-King owners. Guidance such as any possible saddlebags that might fit on this monster bike, decent windscreens, etc.

Appreciate any information you can provide.
