Just a reminder to those of you who might be interested in picking up some Steve McQueen memorabilia, the auction we mentioned quite a while back will run this Saturday, November 11th, at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. There is a lot of “stuff” on the block, photos, books, signs, movie posters, a little bit of everything. In among all of it are a few motorcycles, like the 1920 Indian Powerplus Daytona Racing Motorcycle pictured here and his 1958 GMC pickup truck, a McQueen favorite that he drove around Beverly Hills quite a bit.
Cool stuff from one of the original “cool” movie actors.
Immediately following the McQueen auction, they will have a vintage motorcycle auction with a lot of motorcycles from various collections, a few of those motorcycles will also be ex-McQueen motorcycles, evidently purchased from his collection at an earlier date. That auction is pretty impressive in its own right, a beautiful 1937 Crocker, many Triumphs, a Vincent, Indians, Gileras, it’s a long list. Might be worth a trip if you’re looking for some high quality vintage bikes.
