There’s a very good article on the MotoCzysz motorcycle and production facilities in the September issue of Roadracing World. It’s not on their site so you’ll have to pick it up at the news stand. Lots of photos in and around the shop showing the engine in various states of assembly, the triple cam setup, the one piece cylinders and head and lots more. A good read, especially if you’re interested in the technical aspects of the bike..
One interesting point raised in the article was the racing question which seems to dominate a lot of comments on the new bike. Since MotoGP is dropping to 800cc and MotoCzysz has no plans to follow them down there, what’s next? The answer, according to the article, is the AMA Superbikes class, possibly in 2007 but more likely 2008. Of course this means building a lot more bikes and making them street legal and able to jump through all of the EPA and DOT hoops or maybe talking to the AMA and seeing if they’ll let them in like they did with the Harley Davidson VR1000 but with AMA rules changing frequently, who knows how that will turn out. Whatever the case, racing is in their future one way or another and that’s good to see.
UPDATE: As noted in one of the comments, this article is available online here. (pdf)

I thought the latest version of the engine was designed as an 800 and scaled up? the displacement change has been known for quite a while, and I thought czysz knew it…. maybe they won’t sell an 800, but will race it? not too uncommon – ask suzuki for a v4 sportbike to go racing with, and see if they’ll sell you one!
I’ll have to get the mag and read it though…I’m always ready to be proven wrong.

Interesting workshop and equipement. The new Z-engine seems very interesting and with all the smart heads working there it seems we will see some more interesting stuff. Let the Motoczysz race in the AMA and show it can race…next step would then be MotoGP
