More Motorcycle Builders for Go Not Just Show

By Paul Crowe

While I was at the news stand, perusing some of the other magazines I don’t always read, I see the ever increasing trend to motorcycles that actually work instead of bikes built just for show. The chopper mags are definitely changing and Roland Sands and Jesse Rooke are having an impact. But to underscore the crossover effect of the hot rod customs of Sands and Rooke, Super Streetbike, which targets the freestyle crowd, shows Sands and his No Regrets custom on the cover with the line “Choppers are Dead!” Well, maybe not dead just yet but certainly on a slide. One chopper mag spoke of the shakeout in the bike builder world as demand is falling for those stretched customs everyone was building. We called this well over a year ago in April of 2005 and have been saying it over and over again. I guess it just took a while for everyone to catch up with The Kneeslider. 🙂

“The Times They Are A-Changin’ ”

CycleWorld covers the Jesse James cafe & Ecosse Heretic on 2 separate issues. Now a stunt mag. covers the RSD big torque sportbike. Good news.

thanks for the tip, it is a pretty good read.

I’m trying to help promote the new direction too…
