Remember Cafe Overkill? That’s the custom CB550 built by Jeff Stephens we showed you a few months ago. I just noticed Jeff left a comment on that post with a link to some new photos of the bike taken by Art Montes. Most of them are closeups showing the high level detail work on this build. Those shots would look great on a garage wall, don’t you think?

True art, both in the bike and the photos. Great work all around!

I think that I am rapidly reaching the point that I can no longer buy a new bike due to all the minor detail issues that are now becoming glaring faults.

I think I would feel like a leper riding up on a new hondasaki GXZR 11975 after seeing all the customs on the pages of Kneeslider. The CR450 built by Phil Little and this CB550 really hit the spot for me.

I have my next project in mind. Influenced by a period Moto Guzzi…….

    I just love this bike!

Amazing work to say the least….so clean. I will know what you will all be dreaming tonight folks 🙂
Mark L is right. I kinda hate kneeslider for the same reason too. Being an Eng student with all the tools, the parts, but with not having the chance to apply all my thoughts on my bike just makes me feel a bit ashamed everytime i click the site.

    Wow.

I’d be afraid to get that bike dirty, everything is so meticulously detailed in full color.

    Nice work.

gorgeous bike! just one question though.. so the battery sits right below the shock, and there is this huge gaping hole between the tank and the shock, now if i was riding this bike (like it should be ridden) and it rains.. isnt there a potential for water to hit the battery? Is there a reason for that hole between the tank and the seat that i am not getting?? Seems like it would be an easy fix for some one who has put so much work and effort on this masterpiece!!

    Brij.
The open area in the front portion of the seat was by design; I wanted to have a Norton Manx style seat while allowing clearance for the shocks as well. The inner fender prevents excess spray coming off the rear wheel besides; the battery could be literally submerged without ill effect

Thanks for you’re questions & comments.
