Kawasaki confirms ER-6n

By Paul Crowe

2006 Kawasaki ER-6nPhotos of the new Kawasaki ER-6n began popping up on the Internet the other day and Kawasaki has confirmed its existence. It has a fuel injected parallel twin displacing 649cc, a monoshock rear suspension and styling that takes a jump forward from older models. It looks nice and could be a great beginners bike or just a lot of fun all around for any rider. It will be introduced as a 2006 model in Europe, no word on a U.S. introduction.

From the press release:

Conceived at the exclusive Kawasaki design facility in Akashi, Japan, the ER-6n represents a bold new era for Kawasaki and fresh opportunities both for existing riders and those who have previously not considered the merits of motorcycling.

A machine for riders of all ages and abilities whether male or female, the core appeal of the ER-6n is that of a motorcycle at the very cutting edge of contemporary design, just as pleasing to look at as it is to ride.

Incorporating ergonomics perfectly suited to a variety of riders, the ER-6n makes optimum use of a compact two-cylinder engine to deliver a sleek chassis that is extremely manoeuvrable and fun-to-ride.

Update: The official Kawasaki web site for the ER-6n Thanks, to D. Elwood

The attached URI is the official Kawasaki product site containing loads of info, and neat rotating videos of the bike in all 3 color schemes- there’s also a competition to win a limited edition Arai ER-6n helmet (one-a-day) and ER-6n tshirts. I didn’t win, but I’m still looking forward to test-riding this bike 🙂

Managed to ride the ER-6n yesterday in Melbourne, Australia. Nice bike!

Initially didn’t like the look of the new headlight but when you actually see the bike in the flesh it suits it really well….very impressive.

Plenty of power when you need it and because I went for a test ride I go into the draw to win one!!

A must purchase for any rider wanting to move up from 249cc bikes to something bigger but no too angry.

    Happy and safe riding! 😀
