Kawasaki builds a new website

By Paul Crowe

Must be the season for new websites. I mentioned below about Performance Machine introducing their new site and now Kawasaki has done the same. It has a huge amount of info but I think they made a big mistake. If you want to get in and use it, you need Flash and a fairly fast computer. Maybe with all of the fast Kawasakis running around they figure everyone has fast equipment. I think their web developers were great at selling their skills and someone bought into it. I didn’t see any option for slow connections or a non-flash site. They are going to impress a small group of web surfers and lose the rest. C’mon guys, give us an option. I have a fast computer with Flash and a broadband connection and I would have preferred a non flash version. Their site is slow and annoying, probably not the impression they wanted to leave.

That is a bad website. It is slow, and I have a fast computer. Although 97% of users have flash, only 10% of users will take the time to figure out how your site works or wait for it to load.
