Chopper Chairs

By Paul Crowe

Chopper Chair GothRod

First we have Cycle Faucets, now we have Chopper Chairs. It’s just the thing to complete the whole house custom motorcycle theme. Springer suspension absorbs the bumps, a skull topped jockey shift extends the highway pegs so you can stretch out on those extended TV tours.

The model you see above is called the GothRod, the first in a series of chairs produced in limited numbers. They’re only making 50 of these so if you have a spot in your house that needs this chair you better hurry so you won’t be disappointed. CNC machined billet parts, hand tooled leather, hand pinstriping, … it’s you. It’s expensive.

I have physically seen this chair in a high-end bookstore at a high-end mall. It is beautiful in every detail; a visual feast with the goods to back it up. It does not fit our home decor, or I would consider purchasing it.

The photograph does not remotely demonstrate how special this chair is. When you see it…you want it!

    Good Lord, it’s hideous.

Bizarre. It looks like some kind of robotic animal. Not that it’s a bad thing, but I’m not sure I’d really want one.

With the pegs like that it looks like it would be at home at the gynecologist.

It may be beautiful from a machining standpoint but it is butt ugly from a fashion standpoint. And the pegs do give it a distinct gyno-chair look.

It also doesn’t look especially comfortable. And, as you alluded to, I bet it costs a bloody fortune.
