VentureOne Tilting 3 Wheeler

By Paul Crowe

The VentureOne is a new vehicle design based on the Carver tilting vehicle but substitutes either a hybrid or all electric drivetrain in place of the more conventional internal combustion power in the Carver. I think the image above which shows a more fully faired or extended front end design looks better than the Carver but everything else seems to capture all of the same … [Read more...]

Can Am Spyder Details

By Paul Crowe

The Can-Am Spyder official website is live and it's very well done. Loads of information to answer most all of your questions which is a good thing since they are introducing a new type of vehicle. A few highlights: VSS - Vehicle Stabilization System, developed with Bosch which helps maintain vehicle control. Brakes are activated by the right foot pedal which … [Read more...]

Can Am Spyder 3 Wheeler

By Paul Crowe

Well the mystery is over and the name is the Can Am Spyder. The unidentified 3 wheeler we wrote about in December, identified in comments as coming from Bombardier is, in fact, exactly that. Specifically, it's a 2008 B.R.P. Can-Am Spyder Grand Sport Roadster and it will be introduced to dealers this Friday in San Diego. Power comes from a 106-horsepower Rotax V-twin. … [Read more...]

Carver Tilting 3 Wheeler Video from Top Gear

By Paul Crowe

--- Video no longer available --- Got a note from Dodgy pointing to this video of the Carver 3 wheeler. I keep writing about developments in the 3 wheel direction because some of them look interesting and some are far better engineered than others, the Carver being one of the good ones. Whether you have the 2 wheels up front, the more usual arrangement, or in the back … [Read more...]

Triazuma by Ludovic Lazareth

By Paul Crowe

Ludovic Lazareth made a logical move with the Triazuma, a design based on his Quadrazuma. In the U.S., quads are not street legal but three wheelers are because they're considered motorcycles. Lazareth built this three wheeler with homologation in mind for France and the United Arab Emirates, as far as I can tell. How about the U.S.? To me, this looks extremely cool. Based on … [Read more...]

Hagane Tilting 3 Wheel Custom Yamaha Scooter

By Paul Crowe

At the Tokyo Auto Salon, held last weekend, this custom 3 wheel scooter was shown, based on a Yamaha Majesty. It's called the "Hagane" and the original Japanese article notes the display suggested they would be producing this, possibly later this year. I can't really figure out who actually did the work, was it a custom shop, was Yamaha involved in any way? No matter, the … [Read more...]
