Kimi Raikkonen Wants to Try Motorcycles

By Paul Crowe

What is it with these Formula 1 drivers? First Michael Schumacher starts racing motorcycles, just a hobby, or so he says, and now Kimi Raikkonen, current F1 champ, wants to throw a leg over a MotoGP bike. That's right, all he's really ridden is a motocross bike, but he wants to get on the premiere 2 wheel racing machine and have a go at it. Of course, he may have a feel for … [Read more...]

Buell 1125R 2nd and 4th in French Top Twin Race

By Paul Crowe

All of the Ducati 1098R owners who think they're riding this year's bad boy racer, might want to make sure their skills are razor sharp because there seems to be a problem cropping up as Buell 1125Rs keep passing them on the track. Right on the heels of Buells doing very well in Germany, a couple more just placed 2nd and 4th in a French Top Twin race on March 30th. If you look … [Read more...]

Michael Schumacher – Motorcycle Racer

By Paul Crowe

Last year all of the talk was about Valentino Rossi going from MotoGP to Formula 1, which of course, never happened. This year, Michael Schumacher, retired 7 time Formula 1 World Champion, decided to get on a motorcycle and see what going fast on 2 wheels was like and he seems to like it and he's pretty good, too. First he got into an amateur race in Hungary with a couple of … [Read more...]

Metro Racing, the folks that make a lot of those cool vintage T Shirts, thought it might be a good time to sponsor a vintage dirt track race and bring in Jay Springsteen for a Vintage Dirt Track School. They brought in Woody Kyle, … [Read more...]

Jerez MotoGP

By Paul Crowe

It was good to see Nicky Hayden performing so much better with a 4th place finish in Jerez, especially since he was running on pace with Lorenzo and Rossi, though Pedrosa, running way out in front, seems to be a better fit on the Honda. But MotoGP has a great way of showing that a great performance one race does not make a trend. Stoner had 2 off track excursions and a bad day … [Read more...]

Buell 1125R Takes 2nd and 5th in German Debut

By Paul Crowe

For those of you wondering if the new Buell 1125R was going to perform on the track, the answer seems to be yes. In its first time out at Hockenheim, the only 2 Buell 1125R racers in the 32 bike lineup placed 2nd and 5th. In the field were Ducatis and Aprilias plus four BMW HP2 Sports and five KTM RC 8s. Correction: Actually, the Moto-ST was the first race for the 1125R as … [Read more...]
