The Japanese shops turn out some pretty creative customs and this Honda Valkyrie called Ryujin or Dragon King really pushes the envelope. It seems to have a bit of the Akira look, popular in Japan, but, whatever the inspiration, it's a total redesign of the stock Valkyrie. It looks huge but manageable. Weight comes in at 652 pounds dry. Seat height is 28 3/4 which is lower than … [Read more...]
One Man’s Dream – The Britten Bike Story
The John Britten story is simply amazing. If you visit The Kneeslider, you're probably aware that he designed and built the motorcycle that bears his name, but until watching this DVD, I didn't really know many of the details about the person behind the bike and the team of people he assembled to create this world class racer. John Britten was from New Zealand, and as the … [Read more...]
Wallick Lean Machine Update
When we showed you the Wallick Lean Machine last month, we didn't have any really good outdoor photos with the full paint scheme due to a few problems Ghraydon Wallick encountered on a trip a short time before. It was also hard to see the sidecars clearly so I asked Ghraydon to send a few photos when he had the repaint done and some good weather for pictures. These just … [Read more...]
Harley Davidson 883 Scrambler by Luca Bar
Luca Bar sent me a note about his new design that fits right in with what we've been discussing here, it's a Sportster 883 Scrambler. Wheels are 18 inch front and 17 out back with Pirelli Scorpion Sync rubber, not a real off road tire but suitable for mixed duty, and a chain in place of the belt. High pipes, kneepads on the tank and a slightly bobbed rear fender change the … [Read more...]
Renard GT – a Moto Guzzi Wrapped in Carbon Fiber
This is nice. A carbon fiber monocoque chassis wrapped around a 4 valve Moto Guzzi engine and steered with a carbon fiber girder, the Renard GT hits a lot of the right buttons. Öhlins suspension front and back, controlling carbon fiber wheels, the all over black look nails it. Strong hints of Confederate Wraith for sure, but I think this looks better. The Renard GT … [Read more...]
Wallick Lean Machine Dual Leaning Sidecar Rig
When mentioning the other day how many amazing projects come across our desk here at The Kneeslider, it wasn't idle chatter, here's another example, this one, by builder Ghraydon Wallick, comes from Thailand, it's a dual leaning sidecar rig called the Wallick Lean Machine, or as he likes to call it, the Wallick GLX-44 Magnum Opus Lean Machine. Ghraydon's family has a … [Read more...]
