The 2007 AMD European Championship results are up on their website and this bike from Art of Racer in France placed second. I thought the design was pretty interesting but I am having a little problem figuring out exactly how you ride it. Rear sets mean you are leaning way forward and the whole thing looks pretty uncomfortable even though the bike itself is neat. Engine … [Read more...]
Goodwood Buell by Fred Krugger
Here's another take on a Buell, this time from Fred Krugger. This one is built to run in the Bub Speed Trials at Bonneville and looks the part. Girder front suspension, very nice bodywork with twin exhaust outlets in the tailsection. I don't have any other details but I like it. UPDATE: Just noticed this bike placed 4th in the 2007 AMD European Championship. You can see … [Read more...]
Hellbender Buell by Jens Kruper of Hillbilly Motors
If you start with a bike like a Buell XB9R which is already fairly minimal and take off what you don't think is necessary, you end up with a pretty basic bike. If you add a turbo, you end up with something that looks like a lot of fun. Jens Krüper has a company called Hillbilly Motors over in Germany and this Buell is the result of his handiwork. Specializing in high … [Read more...]

Duss V2
Noticed this in Motorcyclist magazine and thought it looked pretty interesting. It's the Duss V2, built by Roland Duss. Roland designed the engine himself after rejecting Aprilia and Ducati as too wide. It displaces 993cc with a claimed output of 120 hp and 76 foot pounds. Dry weight is 319 pounds! Belt drive, 3.2 gallon tank and supposed to be produced for delivery this … [Read more...]
Harley Davidson V4 Nova
Here's a bike most motorcycle folks have never heard of, the Harley Davidson V4 Nova. Bob Horn brought this up in a comment yesterday and pointed to a pretty interesting page that tells the story of a motorcycle that might have been and I thought it deserved a story of its own. At the time the Shovelhead's replacement was being designed (the engine that eventually became the … [Read more...]
