BUB Streamliner Sets Bonneville Record

By Paul Crowe

BUB Streamliner at Bonneville

The BUB team sends word the motorcycle speed record set by Ack Attack just one day earlier is history because the BUB boys raised it a bit higher. The BUB streamliner, piloted by Chris Carr, set the record at 350.884mph. Chris, an AMA Grand National champion, who knows quite a bit about going fast on surfaces other than asphalt, flew down the salt one way at 354.832mph and back at 346.937mph.

Ack Attack then made a couple more runs to see if they could answer but came up short before the meet was shut down due to rising wind conditions. We still have a couple of days yet before the Speed Trials wrap up so who knows what will happen. Sixteen years the record stands then two teams crush it within days. Keep it going guys!

This made my day. I’m so happy to see Bub back on top again! I think it’s interesting to note, that Bub’s machine has only a single engine, a design he’s been working on for years. He called it the Medusa at one point, for the way it looked. So I guess you could say the ‘dusa took the ‘busa! And they had four more cylinders!

Nothing proves a design better than winning. Especially at Bonneville. I wish I would’ve been there this year to see it.

    Congrats Bub!
