Blackjack Zero – Moto Guzzi Powered 3 Wheeler

By Paul Crowe

Blackjack Zero - Moto Guzzi powered reverse trike

The Blackjack Zero, a reverse trike configuration car, has been around for a while powered by a VW flat four engine. They’ve just come out with a version powered by a Moto Guzzi V-Twin which, to my eye, looks better and fits in the tradition of the old Morgan 3 wheelers. Although they have some photos on their site, it must be a very recent development because all of the information is still about the VW version.

More companies are making variants of these reverse trike 2 seaters but so far my favorite is the ACE Cycle Car. The Blackjack is more of a modern interpretation. Interesting.

Looks like a bunch of fun, except that crate Guzzi motors probably cost more than an S&S motor here in the states.

Basically the front bumper function is supported by the exhaust pipes … 😉

    Cool looking toy

    I’ll second Mayakovski’s comment.
I get compliments on the music my V11 makes.
If the valve train were more quiet, the deep exhaust note would be more audible at idle.

This is a very cool deal. The sleek design with the rumble of a Guzzi emanating from it would be sweet.

Wait, this means they have an adapter to mount a Guzzi motor in the rear of my bug…

“Wait, this means they have an adapter to mount a Guzzi motor in the rear of my bug”

Except you would have 5 reverse gears and one forward :>)

flipping the ring gear is a simple procedure in a VW. If you can change your oil you can flip the ring gear.

I can’t help but wonder what the mpg is for this?

Even with the open top and essentially open wheel design, I can’t imagine it being all that bad considering how small and light it is.

Would you need to flip the ring gear? We have to flip it to get it to work in this front location, but not for a normal – rear app – bug perhaps?
