Biodiesel dragster

By Paul Crowe

We keep mentioning the performance possibilities of diesel and specifically, biodiesel so I thought you might find this interesting. I came across a biodiesel dragster: This dragster is powered by twin turbo, 24 valve, P7100 mechanical fuel pump, 5.9 liter Cummins Diesel engine. Same basic engine as a Dodge Ram truck. This is a pure stock short block with 35,000 street … [Read more...]

Peter Fonda Easy Rider

By Paul Crowe

The local Manufacturer's Association is having a celebration commemorating something like 100 years in existence and various celebrities are in town, among them Peter Fonda. He'll be leading a ride through the downtown area with his Easy Rider chopper. Did he ever do anything after Easy Rider? Their whole family made a lot of movies but he seemed to be a one shot star. I'm sure … [Read more...]

Why new engines don’t sell

By Paul Crowe

With all of the creative talent producing new versions of internal combustion engines, like the ecoforce, the revetec, the round engine, the CEM and others, why do they all seem to run out of steam when they start looking for investors and markets? NAPA Drag Bike observations

By Paul Crowe

After seeing the two shows devoted to building the NAPA drag bike, I guess they did OK. Unfortunately, they only had about 30 seconds of the entire two shows devoted to starting and running the bike down the strip. It did run the 9.9 and Ricky Gadson said it was running rich and needed a lot of fine tuning so it had the potential to do a lot better. The bike was designed to be … [Read more...]

Ecoforce engine

By Paul Crowe

We've covered quite a few different engines here at The Kneeslider, shops all over the world seem to keep coming up with variations to the basic internal combustion engine. Their efforts produce some innovative designs, they build prototypes and proceed to market or begin looking for funding and we don't seem to hear much more. I came across the Ecoforce engine a little … [Read more...]
