Monterey Classic Bike Auction Wrap Up

By Paul Crowe

The Monterey Classic Bike Auction held on the Laguna Seca race weekend moved a lot of bikes but a few didn't quite hit their mark. Loris Capirossi's MotoGP race winner didn't hit it's reserve even though bids topped $200,000. Jordan Suzuki was selling a race bike and its street legal twin which were both snapped up by a husband and wife. Those onsite at the event were … [Read more...]

Radial Engine Motorcycle at Oshkosh

By Paul Crowe

When we last looked at the radial engine powered motorcycle by JRL Cycles, it was a bit short of finished. JRL mounted their engine longitudinally instead of transverse as Jesse James did. It looked interesting then but it's always nice to see the finished bike. Chris Beytes of South Elgin, IL., one of The Kneeslider's readers, was up at the EAA fly in at Oshkosh, Wisconsin … [Read more...]

Tony Foale Motorcycle Seminar Review

By Paul Crowe

I'll be sorting everything out and posting a little later. Also had an up close look at Rob Kasten's reverse rotating rotors while I was there. … [Read more...]

Mid Ohio and Tony Foale

By Paul Crowe

It's been an interesting week, we were very busy with offline events which kept us from our normal schedule. We're also getting ready to run down to Vintage Days at Mid Ohio tomorrow, normally I would make that a Saturday visit but I'll be following Vintage Days with Tony Foale's motorcycle design seminar Monday and Tuesday. I hope to post during my trip if connections work … [Read more...]

Motorcycle Repair and Motorcycle Restoration

By Paul Crowe

One of life's pleasures is mechanical repair... really. If you've never understood the reason so many of us spend hours in the garage, wrenches in hand, figuring out what went wrong or what needs to be fixed, it might be hard to explain. Motor vehicles have the advantage of moving when they work so if you did the job right, things make noise and something happens, you can climb … [Read more...]
