Buell Blast Cafe Racer

By Paul Crowe

This is what the Buell Blast should look like to begin with. I've never been a big fan of the Blast, maybe the styling just left me cold but the guys over at Crossroads Performance of Somerset, Wisconsin, who make a lot of aftermarket pieces for the Buell, put this cafe racer together called the Blastard and it looks really nice. The bike is a 2000 Buell Blast with a long … [Read more...]

Ribcap – Flexible Armor Stocking Cap Helmets

By Paul Crowe

If you live in an area where motorcycle helmets are not required, but you still think a little head protection would be a good thing, this could be an option. We mentioned flexible instant body armor before, it's a soft and pliable plastic material that instantly hardens on impact. The molecules can slide around slowly but if you try to deform the material quickly it becomes … [Read more...]

Mini Kawasaki Z1 by Mitik Moto

By Paul Crowe

Here's one of those look and then look again photos of a Kawasaki Z1 or what appears to be a Z1. In fact, it's a mini Kawasaki actually powered by an engine from a Kawasaki Z500. It's the work of Patrick Caralp of Mitik Moto in Tours, France. I don't have much detail but it looks really cool, certainly nothing like the pocket bikes we see all over the place. With the 500cc … [Read more...]

It looks like there is a transportation … [Read more...]

Essential Guide to Motorcycle Maintenance

By Paul Crowe

Sooner or later your motorcycle will need some basic maintenance and repair. Even when things are running great you still need to change the oil periodically, check tire pressure, look for loose bolts and nuts and make a few adjustments here and there. If you are new to all of this, owning your first motorcycle perhaps or even a veteran rider who just never took the time to … [Read more...]

Norton Kawasaki Cafe Racer

By Paul Crowe

Look at the cafe racer here and you think, another nice old Norton or Triton, until you look closer and see an engine with Kawasaki on the side. Look closer still and you find a front fork from a Suzuki GSX-R400, a Suzuki GT750 front brake and a Kawasaki H2 rear hub, plus a big helping of self made pieces that look rather nice. Phil Klawsuc, over in the U.K., had a 1968 … [Read more...]
