Harley Davidson V4 Engine Prototype Photos

By Paul Crowe

Harley Davidson V4 engine prototype

In 2007, we wrote about the Harley Davidson Nova V4 engine project from way back in the mid 1970s. AMF owned Harley in those years and decided a V4 wasn't a profitable venture so they killed it. Then, in 2009, there were rumors of a new Harley V4 project. This one was supposedly around 1600cc, with a 72 degree V angle and output around 170 horsepower. Cycle World in May of 2009 … [Read more...]

Motus MSTR Lone Star 2 Reveals the Beast Inside

By Paul Crowe

What's that on the side of the V4? Why, it's a Procharger supercharger, of course, the result of Brian Case's tinkering late at night in the Motus labs.

You already know Motus created a really impressive machine for the rider in search of that All American V4 rumble in a very capable yet civilized sport bike, but what if Doctor Jekyll was allowed to break free of his bonds, what sort of brutal Mr Hyde would you get? If you noticed in the post with the Guzzi … [Read more...]

LED Garage Light Looks Super Bright

By Paul Crowe

Really bright LED garage light

After putting those little LED light strips over my workbench, I quickly developed a healthy respect for how much light you can get from something so small consuming so little power. Now, I seem to have some mental radar for anything I might use in the garage. That's how I found Big Ass Lights. They're LED lights for commercial and residential applications and their photos show … [Read more...]

Spring Preparations in The Kneeslider Garage

By Paul Crowe

Mechanical therapy by Doctor Guzzi

After building benches and cabinets and spending time upgrading the garage, it felt good to pull the cover off the Guzzi, set it up on stands and contemplate some wrench time before rolling it out. This is when a bit of slow, reflective maintenance makes all the difference, for the bike and for the mind, too. Chilly days begin giving way to hints of warmer weather, hands feel … [Read more...]
