2008 Buell Ulysses XB12XT

By Paul Crowe

If you like the idea of carving through the turns while you're on a long tour, Buell has your bike, the new 2008 Buell Ulysses XB12XT. They took the Ulysses adventure sportbike, outfitted it with shorter travel suspension and lower standard seat height plus a windscreen and luggage, then focused on paved road performance. The result is what looks like a fun bike. The XB12XT is … [Read more...]

Another Steampunk Motorcycle

By Paul Crowe

Baron Margo, an artist and sculptor, has an amazing collection of vehicles, models and sculptures of all sorts. They all seem to have that steampunk look about them and this motorcycle, the "Phantom" is a case in point. There are no details on what specific motorcycle he started with but the end result would fit well into some movie like "The League of Extraordinary … [Read more...]

Suzuki GSX-R Custom by KMP

By Paul Crowe

Sabine Welte sent me a few interesting photos she took recently of this Suzuki GSX-R powered custom, called Project "K" built by Kris Moto Pieces (KMP) in France. When I first looked at the photos I thought, hmm ..., nice naked bike, nice looking engine, no tank, ..., wait a minute, where's the tank? Starting with a frame from Moto Martin, it was modified to accept the … [Read more...]

Maybe they want to get in on the retro remakes along with everyone else like Moto Guzzi and Ducati. It certainly is a sweet looking ride, of course the Guzzi is, too. The competition is heating up. Thanks to Landon, from over … [Read more...]

Honda Gold Wing Jet Fighter

By Paul Crowe

There's very little I can say about this. Take one Honda Gold Wing and turn it into a ground bound jet fighter, ... kinda, sorta. He has the sound worked out pretty well, there's a 12,000 rpm turbine inside with a microphone next to it, creating the illusion of a jet on the taxiway. He doesn't cite performance figures except to say he wouldn't take it over 80 mph on the … [Read more...]
