The results are in for the 12th AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Building and Suicide Customs of Japan takes the win for their entry, Rumble Racer. Michael Naumann of Germany took second with Simple Iron and third place goes to Krugger Motorcycles of Belgium for his S&S 103 powered LADD.
Custom builds like these will appeal to some more than others. Personally, I like Alcatraz 521 for going in a different direction instead of building another V-Twin and Beckman for the home brew 2 stroke engine, though not so much for the overall styling.
Whether these kinds of custom builds are your cup of tea or not, I always give these builders credit for doing the work and putting it out there. Take a look and see what you think.

Not one bagger, beach ball rear tire, raised steering head/long fork, plank seat, wrapped pipe, or ironic clip-on/knobby combo in the bunch. Only one set of firestones.
It’s about time….

Nothing here really works for me. All overstyled and overdone. My 2 cents.

As a gray beard rider and sometimes builder of 20 years I am even now constantly amazed how many beautiful customs can be rendered out of V Twins. I have owned everything from a Kaw 3cyl to a 750 atlas Norton to a 57, Morris mag linkart DC equipped sportster etc etc etc and love them all. I now own a sportster going under the knife and just finished the paperwork on a two year old BMW super bike…
My favorite here was the Rumble Racer followed by Kontrolled Khaos with 3rd place tied between the Ukraine Beckman and the 27′ eight valve JD. None of these were made to ride but are more pieces of art that can be rode if necessary to the cafe or bar but more likely to the ride in show to show off the unbelievable workmanship and style of these tasty bikes. Or maybe I’m just getting too soft in my old age. It wsn’t that long ago that I ride that short (think old style ness bay area but with a cherroni front end and chrome moly frame) rigid 57 sporty to a national meet from Tennessee to Chicago IL in a thunderstorm that seemed to follow me all the way there!

No matter how long I look at it, the Alcatraz 521 looks like it is violating several laws of physics just sitting there. A visitor from an alternate universe.
Note: Comment edited by Paul Crowe to include 521 in the name of the bike, as also noted at the end of the post.

I don’t get the Krugger LADD (did somebody mix the drawings?), but as usual I’m in awe of the imagination and talent out there.
