Why does Ducati get all of the attention? There are more great Italian bikes out there, especially from Moto Guzzi and this 1997 Moto Guzzi Centauro is a perfect example. OK, I admit it, I’m partial to these bikes, because I have one in my own garage and it looks exactly like this one.
The Centauro has the same engine with 4 valve heads that the earlier Daytona had, but it’s built to be a sport touring machine instead of a racer. It sounds really good and, I can tell you, it gets a lot of attention wherever you go because you don’t see them everywhere.
This one has the Staintune stainless exhaust with carbon fiber mufflers which is an expensive aftermarket system, and it recently had complete service including new cam belts. It also has very low miles, only 2363! The owner believes it to be true mileage because he bought it with the original tires (since replaced) with what seemed to be the proper amount of wear, and it has both the headlight fairing and the lower chin spoiler which owners often seem to somehow break or lose along the way.
Again, I’m a bit biased, but I really like the look of these bikes, especially the way the engine is such a visual focus of the design, and this one seems to be in above average condition. If you were thinking of something Italian, maybe you should think outside the Ducati box and consider a Centauro.
It’s for sale on eBay. Listing has ended. Did not sell. Bidding stopped at $4,551.33.

Beautiful!! I fell in love with this bike the moment I saw one a couple years ago. This one is on my list of bikes I must own. Wish I was ready to buy one now.
