When we last checked in on Paul Brodie, his 1919 Excelsior restoration was coming along nicely but it was still in the early stages of reconstruction. Paul has made a lot of progress since then though the project still has quite a way to go. According to Paul, he’s still figuring out the bottom end and bevel drive, certainly no small task. The pistons just arrived a few days ago and the engine cases will soon go off to the pattern-maker to be cast.
Just to refresh your memory, if you didn’t see our earlier article, Paul started with only a couple of corroded engine cases and a grainy photograph before beginning this project. What would be nothing but an interesting curiosity for most of us was enough for Paul to begin the reconstruction of an entire motorcycle.
We’ll be keeping close tabs on Paul’s progress so you don’t miss seeing the finished bike. Amazing work!
